Description
I was out capturing some beautiful clouds, standing in the middle of the street, near my Arizona Sonoran Desert home. Low and behold, I noticed all these butterflies flying and landing all over this American Red Lantana.
Since I am a butterfly nut, crazy for butterflies, I turned my attention to attempt to photograph these lovely creatures. I say attempt, because they would not stay still, and they we're NOT having it... being photographed, that is!
I knew I would not be able to get up close and personal, so I had to be quick and stealthy. I could only accomplish that with my telephoto lens, to zoom in on them. They were landing every which way, to get away from me, but I was not deterred. I continued to fire away with my Nikon.
They all seemed to tell a different story to me. Letting my creative imagination free, this capture has the Painted Lady Butterfly, hanging downward on the flower, as if to say, "It's A Long Way Down!"
