I was one of the thousands to visit the Arizona Picacho Peak State Park, as wildflowers burst onto the scene. Especially the Mexican gold poppies, the comeback kid has made its triumphant return. The wildflower season of 2019, is exploding!
At Picacho Peak State Park, one can explore many of the mountainside, wildflower blossoms. Here we see the brightly colored Parry's Penstemon or Parry's beardtongue (Penstemon parryi). It produces pretty, pink, funnel-shaped flowers about one inch long. A hummingbird's delight.
They certainly show themselves off in front of the yellow blooms of the brittlebush, "A Penstemon Princess," of the wildflowers.

They are in abundance off Colossal Cave Rd., posing with Desert Marigolds. I have never seen so many of these lovely wildflowers.
