I am fascinated by parts of the plants that may go unnoticed. Apache plume (fallugia paradoxa) was one of those for me. I first discovered them at the Grand Canyon National Park, but while atop Mount Lemmon, in the Coronado National Forest, to the north of Tucson, Arizona, there they were.
This evergreen shrub, a member of the Rose Family (Rosaceae), grows up to 6 feet high. It is sometimes confused with the Cliffrose (Cowania mexicana) , but can be distinguished by its more shrub-like appearance, having numerous branches at the base.
They produce these lovely, little white flowers, and are replaced by long, red-purple styles, having a feathery plumage as seen here, along with the flowers. The lower lighting gave it a soft bluish hue, which I played up (having done this with other photographic moments of mine).

Thank you, Sharon for your lovely comment. I always appreciate your visits and support of my work. The time of day made it conducive to play up the lighting to a blue hue. Blue is so blissful. This feathery plumed shrub is quite delightful. I have only seen them in higher elevations of Arizona.
