Description**To view more of these mansions_Visit my "Athens Greece" Collection**
On our walk from our visit to the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, we came across these neoclassical mansions and apartments, on Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. Located in the Makrygianni District. I just thought they were gorgeous, and I especially love all the colorful flowers and luscious vegetation. Truly, "Athens' Window Dressings."
Dionysiou Areopagitou Street is a pedestrianized street (since 2003), adjacent to the south slope of the Acropolis in the Makrygianni district of Athens. It is named after Dionysius the Areopagite judge, the first Athenian convert to Christianity after Apostle Paul's sermon, according to the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 17:34).
This is the Central Flat Dionysiou Areopagitou. The main entrance of the apartment is right in front of the Acropolis, on the pedestrian walkway of Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, which constitutes the central route for the unified network of the city’s archaeological sites.
I loved the classic, old world feel to this, with its marble stairway, doorway, and other treatments to the home. What a privilege to rent this place when visiting Athens, as while you enjoy your breakfast in the living room you get the view of the Acropolis! I love how all the trees, plants, and flowers dress this elegant home.
In the middle of the street, were found the foundations of the house of Proclus, a Greek Neoplatonist philosopher, one of the last major classical philosophers of his time.
