For me, there is one National Park, that stands out amongst the many wonderful National Parks in southern Utah, bar none, it is "Zion National Park!" It's just dripping with so much beauty, it has stopped this visitor in her tracks, leaving me awe-struck." In the past 30 years of visiting there, it has continued to do so!
Zion National Park in Utah (USA) is glorious to say the least. The word "Spectacular" is bubbled forth over and over again, craning my neck to view the statuesque cliffs and monoliths, and the eye-popping beauty. This extraordinary corner of Utah is a masterpiece of towering sandstone cliffs, deep red canyons, buttes and massive monoliths, and it's lofty peaks above my head.
In the center of all this is Mount Carmel Junction, located at the east side of the park. Coming from Arizona, that entrance is our first experience into the park. Boasting some of the best scenic drives anywhere, is the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway. A bi-way to the scenic beauty before us. A breathtaking, tree laden canyon cliff walls, of the Fremont Cottonwoods and Maple trees. Oranges, reds, yellows, and green flora, elating us with, "Autumn Aura At Zion!"

I am sorry you were so close, yet so far from getting to see Zion National Park. This was in October, and the fall leaves were at their peak. My daughter and son-in-law are going to be their during the holiday break this week. Arriving Wednesday and leaving Sunday. If I wasn't in my present circumstances, we would have gone along. Traveling is out of the question at this point in our lives. Thank you for the fave and sharing it on Facebook. I truly appreciate it!

The fall colors are, of course, beautiful, but the interesting thing about this image is the way that one, tall evergreen manages to have great presence even in the midst of all that glorious color.
