Description
Since 1933 this extraordinary giant cactus, the Saguaro, has been protected within SAGUARO NATIONAL PARK. One of 3 National Parks in Arizona.
The saguaro has been called monarch of the Arizona Sonoran Desert, supreme symbol of the American Southwest, and a plant with PERSONALITY. It is renowned for the variety of ODD, ALL-TOO-HUMAN shapes it assumes...shapes that inspire wild and fanciful imaginings.
I had the pleasure of capturing some of these ALL-TOO-HUMAN SHAPES with personalities. I would like to introduce you to some of them. It's still the Summer Monsoon season, thus producing wonderful, dramatic clouds. Here are two Saguaro Cacti, huddled together, viewing this storm cloud. Looking as though they are, "Bracing For The Storm!"
I felt black and white photography gave it a more dramatic feel to this capture.
