Thank you, Jasna. The Santa Rita prickly pear cactus flowers are indeed beautiful. I love their purplelicious (my word to describe my passion for the color purple) color too!

Thank you so much Greta for taking note of that. Purple and yellow definitely are lovely complementary colors. The Santa Rita prickly pears cactus are my favorite for the purple coloring they display, and their lemony yellow flowers. The petals are quite different than other prickly pear cactus produce. An iridescent look to them, so not so easy to photograph. I have had to delete many. It's great when you can get it right, and come up with a gem.

Thank you Bunny for sharing your thoughts about my favorite cactus. I have had many photo opportunities with my purple prickly pear cactus, also known as the Santa Rita prickly pear cactus. Purple is my passion color and so those moments are special to me. When they bloom in spring, (generally later than my other varieties of prickly pear), they are so complementary by the yellow and purple combination, they really brighten my day.
