Thank you dear Ruth for stopping by. Always a pleasure. This fish hook barrel cactus is no more, sadly to say. It was our tallest one, and they begin to lean towards the afternoon sun and fall over. It was quite an undertaking to get rid of. So glad I had these wonderful captures of it to share. The blooms can have an amazing glow during certain times of the day. Thank you Veikko! These grow right in my backyard. My desert garden. Our property is one acre, and has lush Sonoran Desert vegetation. Although the barrel cactus grows everywhere here in Southern Arizona.

Barrel Cactus flowers are beautiful, Their blooms burst forth with a neon brilliance that is hard to miss and a joy to share. Thank you for your kind words and visit.
