Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park (USA), is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and its vastness humbles the artist and photographer. It is such a joy to capture its beauty, with all the ever changing colors, shadows, and light, one tries to be in the right place at the right time.
From this gorgeous vantage point, one receives a marvelous view of all the wondrous rock formation layers, the Colorado River, the North Rim in the distance, and the lovely blanket of clouds, creating such atmospheric beauty. One of the many scenic viewpoint stops along Hermits Drive, which skirts the Canyon Rim, west of Grand Canyon Village.
What a fabulous time of day, just loving all the "Canyon Shadows" created by all the glorious clouds.

Painting a view like this is to me, the ultimate challenge for a landscape artist, especially if they attempt to faithfully Capture it as you see it rather than just suggest or imply certain facets of it with a very small four hour speed painting quick draw. The great Curt Walters is one of the few that would faithfully and beautifully render something like this splendid scene you have here on a huge 60โx90โ canvas!
