Description
There is always animal and bird action going on in my desert garden of joy. Here you see a desert-dwelling mammal, the Desert Cottontail, seen most frequently.
Since "Spring has sprung" this fine April day, in my very own Arizona Sonoran Desert yard, I was scoping the lay of land for what was blooming in my front yard. This desert cottontail was doing some investigating of his own. Generally they flee quite quickly away. This little guy said, no I like it here, I will put myself in caution mode. Cottontails are preyed upon by everything. Hence, with ears straight up in the air, ready for anything, it says, "I'm All Ears!"
Standing at a distance, I zoomed in with my telephoto lens, I wanted to capture the look in his eyes, and was fascinated at its detailed beauty. I loved all the nuances and tonal quality of this in black and white. This particular medium is a favorite of mine.

I was only able to get in close with my zoom lens. It thought it was safe hiding in the creosote bush. I followed it around in my front part of my natural desert acre, working at capturing some shallow depth of field photography. After a while, the cottontail had enough of the paparazzi Janet, and took off.
