Shadows gives all the shape and depth to the Grand Canyon. Really showcasing its grandeur. When you view it at midday, it’s flat as a pancake. Just the same when viewing the Catalina Mountains at that time of day, but later in the day shows you it’s depth, and beauty, giving life to it. I am glad when I can capture it at its best. I have learned these secrets from Jerry. I am fascinated with rock formations, so a shot like this is special to me. Thank you for visiting and sharing such a wonderful comment about this. I always give a name to each image file as I first view it, to note that I want to eventually post it. I wrote “I’m lovin’ the detail!” It really showcases the super detail in the Canyon rock formations, the depth, the clouds and shadows bringing out the true colors of Grand Canyon, which do change throughout the day and year. Some Grand Canyon photography is not how it’s seen in person. The colors can be over processed or edited. I don’t have such programs, just letting the natural beauty shine through. So I really appreciate your fabulous words expressed. 💕Janet

I am glad that you like it and have chosen it as one of your favorites. I hope you are able to visit Grand Canyon again. I have had the privilege to capture it in all seasons. Recently visiting there 4 times in one year. There is so much to see, from the far eastern entrance of the Park to the end at Hermit's Rest. I have never visited the far western part of Grand Canyon from the Nevada/Arizona border. I have been to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon many years ago. 💕Janet
