Description
Who, among people, are fascinated by the native Sonoran Desert plants, that don't fail to recognize the Desert Marigold--surely one of the stars. They are in the Aster family, and deserve recognition for both their beauty and their hardiness in the face of the hostile desert climate.
After a much needed rain, due to such a dry winter, it has begun the spring flowering season in the Arizona Upland subdivision of the Sonoran Desert. Which spans from mid February to mid June with a peak from mid March to late April depending on rainfall and temperatures during the growing season.
I couldn't resist capturing the Desert Marigold growing nearby. As with all my photographic moments with flowers of all sorts, I have to contend with the bees. Even though there were more than plenty to go around, this desert bee, said, "No I want them all to myself!" But I am tenacious, and stood my ground. It was a windy March day, and had a cloud or two passing by, creating some shade. Without getting permission from the bee, bee-ing to busy feeling, "I've Struck Gold," I captured those feelings for the both of us.

It was, and I was interfering according to the bee. With all the bees I have contended with, somehow they have not wanted to sting me, just warn me. I am glad you like it and feel it's a beautiful capture! I also appreciate you choosing this as one of your favorites too! 💜💜💜💜
