Description
I was one of the thousands to visit the Arizona Picacho Peak State Park, as wildflowers burst onto the scene. Especially the Mexican gold poppies, the comeback kid has made its triumphant return. The wildflower season of 2019, was exploding.
Far from being a desolate, barren land, the Sonoran Desert has a rich abundance of life. Inviting you to come and explore the desert, and discover some of its beauty. Some of that abundance of life included all the amazing Saguaro Cacti and other cacti as well. They are monarchs of the Sonoran Desert, coming in so many shapes and sizes, as well as 6 stages in life. This one appears to be between stage 2 and 3.
These monarchs of the Sonoran desert, are a supreme symbol of the American Southwest, and a plant with PERSONALITY. It is renowned for the variety of ODD, ALL-TOO-HUMAN shapes it assumes...shapes, that inspire wild and fanciful imaginings.
This one inspired me with fun. With all the rain we have had, they can become quite fat. As it stood there among the poppies, looking as though it is sucking its stomach in, creating a waistline, feeling it is "Making An Impression" with this audience of poppies.

That cute fella looks like a little prickly Buddha surveying all of the glorious beauty of nature that is surrounding him. How wonderful to be in the midst of such a lovely outburst of color. This is just gorgeous, Janet. I love it. So well done, as always. L/F Featured in American Desert Southwest.

Well that’s the all-too-human Saguaro Cactus for you, inspiring us to see wherever our imagination takes us. My daughter’s mother-in-law saw a head neck and body viewing the blooms. I am glad you feel it’s cute, it is considered a youth. This is a closeup of the cactus in “Blossoming Desert Jubilation.” Like yourself, I loved how it was surrounded by the gold poppies. Thank you for your luscious words about this, and for the HOMEPAGE FEATURE in your lovely Art Group, “AMERICAN DESERT SOUTHWEST!” I am honored for the special recognition. I truly appreciate it and for choosing this as one of your favorites too! Janet 💕
