What a dramatic capture! Perfect in black and white. That sky feels huge. In Wyoming we'd call those hammer head clouds!

Janet Marie replied:

I had a blast capturing the clouds that afternoon. I have shared only some of those images in my On Cloud Nine gallery. There are about 5 different cumulonimbus cloud types. This is probably a cumulonimbus incus, sometimes called anvil cloud, hammerhead, or thunderhead. I like to render cloudscapes in black and white when I can. Can really bring out the ominous, dramatic emotion of clouds. At least for me. I really need to post more of my black and white images. Thank you so much for visiting my gallery of clouds and sharing your wonderful comment about my artwork. I truly appreciate it. I will have to add hammerhead cloud to my tags. FAA doesn’t let all tags be seen.

WOW JANET!! THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!! So strange to see clouds that look like "solids"... Really powerful, amazing scene!!

Janet Marie replied:

This was a fun and awesome experience, photographing the marvelous clouds that day. I have posted that day in color as well. Living in Arizona’s Sonoran Desert affords many such cloudscapes. So glad you feel this is amazing. Thank you for that. I really appreciate it. 💕Janet

Beautiful black and white Janet! Superb composition, and with this photograph you've really captured the essence of our summer monsoon afternoons. f/v

Janet Marie replied:

Thank you so much, Douglas! So sweet of you to visit my gallery and sharing such an awesome comment about my artwork. It was a great day of photography for me, lending itself for so many versatile captures as the the sky was ever changing and so phenomenal. Clouds over the Catalinas, Rincon’s, and the Tucson Mountains were displaying the summer monsoon at their best. I am delighted that you like this and feel it’s superb and beautiful. That means a lot. I truly appreciate it and for choosing this as one of your favorites. Janet 💕

Better find some cover!! Excellent storm cloud presentation!! v/f/t

Janet Marie replied:

Well if I do that, I wouldn't be able to capture all the Monsoon Madness and Surreal Sunsets in the Sonoran Desert. Thank you kindly dear Robert, for visiting my gallery and sharing such a wonderful comment. I am delighted that you like it and feel it's excellent. I appreciate that and for choosing it as a favorite, as well as on Twitter. I am just taking the time to share some of my summer of 2018 photography. After going through it again, I couldn't believe my eyes that I actually have witnessed all this splendor. I wanted to bring out a bit of the drama of these amazing clouds.
