Description
The desert grasslands found within the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area (LCNCA) include some of the rarest habitats in the American Southwest.
Las Cienegas is located 45 miles southeast of Tucson, Arizona. Out Sonoita Highway, near milepost 40, we turn east into the "Historical Empire Ranch" entrance. It's an opportunity to see a different side of the Sonoran Desert, a bit of the old west, cattle country.
We love the sprawling terrain, with beautiful scenery and wildlife. Of course it's a great day when the sky is filled with amazing clouds. On occasion the sun appears behind the clouds, and sends out bright streams of light, forming "My Sunburst Sky!"

A sunburst is a definite favorite of mine, also crepuscular rays. But I get concerned about damaging my lens looking into the sun, so they can be rare for me. I appreciate knowing that. Janet π
