Orange Sherbet Delight

Thank you so much, Zina, for your wonderful comment, about my cactus flower photography. I love it when I come across the unexpected beauty, that adorns our Arizona Sonoran Desert. It was beckoning to me, with its lustrous glow. I just had to stop and capture some of the beauty of this barrel cactus. What stopped me in my tracks was the delicious, creamy, scrumptious looking color, like "Orange Sherbet Delight!"

Thank you Debby for sharing your thoughts. One thing about the Arizona Upland region of the Sonoran Desert, it is not desolate. I lived in Las Vegas, and the outskirts were desolate. Arizona is the only state to have all 4 deserts that exist in the United States. Some biologists feel this subdivision should be reclassified as thornscrub. Time will tell. We have the cactus varieties that bloom from March to June, and those that bloom from July to October. The barrel cactus bloom during that time. So, we get to see our desert bloom for 8 months out of the year, and wildflowers grace our presence all year. We get this due to our rainy seasons. Climatic changes have somewhat changed that, though.
