Description
After the initial overlook views at Meteora, in central Greece. We took a path to our first visit of one of six monasteries, to see beautiful scenic views. This was a treat to walk through a European forest, filled with lush landscape and lovely flowers decorating our way. I will be sharing some of that natural beauty in further artwork, for yOUR enJOYment!
Monastery of Roussanou has received the name of the first probable hermit who settled on the rock. Compared to other rocks where monasteries were built, the one of Roussanou has a lower elevation, which makes it more accessible. The monastery was initially founded by monks and it suffered severe damage during World War II.
It is said that ones visit Roussanou for a different view of the surrounding rocks and adjacent monasteries. As we found out after trekking through the forested "Path To Monastary Of Roussanou."

Yes it was. Something we don't get to experience in the Sonoran Desert. Like something out of a Hans Christian Anderson story. Thanks for making it special, and for choosing this as one of your favorites. ππππ
