Description
A beautiful autumn day in Tucson, Arizona's Sonoran Desert. A favorite spot of mine to stop and view Saguaro National Park East-Rincon Mountain District, from the outside, looking in. The drive along Old Spanish affords one the opportunity to get a first glance view of this uniquely, marvelous area.
Already, the monarchs of the cactus world, the saguaro, welcome you to this surprisingly lush and diverse land. If you are like most whizzing along this road, unless you stop, you miss out on this glimpse of what awaits you at Saguaro National Park.
Looking south toward the Santa Rita Mountain Range, it's a mere smorgasbord of our monarchs of the Sonoran Desert, the saguaro cactus. Set against a cloud-filled blue sky, how can you miss, with this saguaro convention, many that are 150 or more years old.

Those gorgeous saguaro's are so rare, that your picture makes me believe we still can have that beauty around. Beautiful! FL
Janet Marie replied:
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment Debby. These saguaros are in a protected area, as this is Saguaro National Park-East Rincon Mountain District. Located in Tucson, Arizona. One of 3 national parks in Arizona. They only exist in the Sonoran Desert, and very prolific in southeastern Arizona. Beautiful, indeed!
