Description
The Santa Cruz River is about 184 miles long. It begins in the high grasslands of San Rafael Valley, east of Patagonia, Arizona. It flows south into Sonora Mexico about 12 miles and changes it mind and heads North back into Arizona all the way to Tucson, Arizona (USA).
On its way to Tucson, it flows through the Village of Tubac (an artist colony, drawn by the history and scenery there). Standing on The Tubac bridge, one can observe the Santa Cruz River’s ribbon of life….rare southwest cottonwood-willow riparian (streamside) environment. In the fall, varying shades of gold of this leafy canopy, reflect in this slowly meandering river. What "Serene Beauty," is presented before me.

Beautiful landscape, otherwise you have an eye for good composition. l/f
Janet Marie replied:
Thank you Jasna, for your kind words about this piece. It was a glorious day. It is a difficult camera shot to get, as you have to stand on small bridge, and people aren't really suppose to do that. I did not know it at the time.

Serene indeed! I have never actually seen this river with water in it until now. I love the hints of the high desert grass. Featured in Tucson and Southern Arizona.
Janet Marie replied:
Chance! I am elated at your words expressed. Sometimes I wonder if others will have the appreciation for photography of such a simple place. So, when it does, it makes me happy. In bringing art to a Tubac Art Show for Jerry and one for myself in late November 2017, I love to stop at this area. The leaves were changing and it was quite lovely. This part of the Santa Cruz River, always has water in it. It’s a rare riparian area, like Sabino Canyon. By the time it get to Tucson, it’s dry. So I am glad I could give you a glimpse of something not seen by you before. Thank you so much for the HOMEPAGE FEATURE in your wonderful Art Group, “TUCSON AND SOUTHERN ARIZONA!” I truly am honored for my artwork to be recognized in this special way. Janet 💕
