Description
Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park (USA), is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and its vastness humbles the artist and photographer. It is such a joy to capture its beauty, especially during "golden hour."
Hopi Point is one of the best all-around viewpoints in Grand Canyon National Park! Jutting out farther into the Canyon than any other point on the South Rim, offering terrific views to the east and west (here looking East). A great place for both sunrise and sunset. Hopi Point is located along Hermit Drive, which skirts the Canyon Rim west of Grand Canyon Village. Accessible only by shuttle bus or walking, from March through November.
My husband and myself, were wanting to take advantage of the summer monsoon clouds, that would really add to the beauty of Grand Canyon. It was not until our last day, and the following morning sunrise, that the monsoon weather rolled in.
I must say I was on "CLOUD NINE," with all the cloud formations that were amazingly out of this world. Here, I watched the approach and formation of a UNIQUE AND SURREAL CLOUD!! A MAMMATUS CLOUD! "Surreal Canyon Clouds" hovering over Battleship rock formation in the front middle, O'Neill Butte just behind, Zoroaster Temple in the left front, Vishnu Temple off center at the rear, and Desert View lit up in the background.
We were not left disappointed, when our last evening, greeted us with stunning, colorful sky and Canyon cliffs, at sundown.
