**Explore Zion National Park Travel Art, in my "Zion National Park-Utah" Collection**
All wonderful destinations need a host city--somewhere to get you fed, and put up for the night, so that you can be rested before you set out on your wilderness adventure. Cuzco is basecamp for Machu Picchu, the Acropolis sits above Athens and Zion National Park has the town of Springdale, Utah.
Springdale is located on the southern border of Zion, with a population of 592. It is more than just a parking lot for the park. It's surrounded by these towering rustic, vibrant, colorful cliffs, a signature of Southern Utah. As you can see here, it gives you incredible views right from the town's main byway, aptly named Zion Park Boulevard.
It was the end of our first day arriving at our destination, and the sunset was not disappointing, creating such a wonderful glow on the cliffs, against a cloud-swept sky. It was a "Surreal Springdale Sunset!"

Clouds are a favorite of mine, and when they can grace the subject at hand, it’s a bonus. Sycamore trees were in my way, hence the only angle I could achieve. Sometimes it works well even when the circumstances seem to be not as conducive as one would like. I was pleasantly surprised, at the outcome. The sun was setting in the west, and these towering sandstone cliffs were lighting with a glow, with a fabulous cloudscape. Hence why I captured this.
