Description
Against a background of modern Athens, Greece, we see the Temple of Hephaestus, a beautifully preserved Greek temple overlooking the Ancient Agora of Athens. I love that protective hedge of the lush greenery that surrounds it. Providing a line of demarcation from the modern city. Truly, the "Temple Of Hephaestus-The Old With The New."
The Temple of Hephaestus was built two years before the Parthenon. Today, this temple is one of the greatest ancient monuments in Greece, built around 450 B.C.E., and is a classic example of Dorian architecture. It is located at the north-west side of the Agora of Athens, on top of the Agoraios Kolonos hill.
