Description
Part of the beauty at Saguaro National Park-East Rincon Mountain District, in Tucson, Arizona (USA), are the varieties of trees and rock formations. I am fascinated by both as they often times take on the look of faces, or other things familiar in our life.
Here, I distinctly see a face behind this mesquite tree. Face pareidolia is the phenomenon of seeing faces in everyday things, and is a very human condition that relates to how our brains are wired.
A striking feature of these objects is that they not only look like faces but can even convey a sense of personality. It is an interesting subject to delve into. This face is very mask-like to me, with its deep set eyes, prominent nose, and open mouth, as though ready to speak.
Just some of the humor in photographic moments.

Awesome find!
Janet Marie replied:
Stephen! Thank you for stopping by my gallery to share your wonderful comment about my photography. I really appreciate it! It’s funny how we can find these moments if we take notice around us. Saguaro National Park is a great place to do so, between the odd-all-too-human personalities of the saguaro cactus, the various trees, and the rock formations.
