Description
A four hour road trip, north of Athens, Greece, takes us to the village of Kalampaka.
We stopped at this first vantage point, to capture the beauty that surrounded us. After capturing some panoramic views of the "Stone Forest," a vast, unique, rock complex of Meteora, that includes these forested hills, I wanted to zoom in for a closer look.
I am fascinated by rock formations, stirring my artistic imagination of what can be depicted in these formidable stones. That closer look had me seeing a laughing face, and other human characteristics. Let your imagination take you to see what you may see.
Meteora, featuring towering sandstone rocks and age-old monasteries, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and is a leading tourist attraction. Thousands of tourists visit to admire the unique landscape and get a look into monastery living.
