Description
Here, we are looking down from the south slope of the Acropolis, one can view the "Theater Of Dionysus" in its entirety. We passed this while on the pathway below. I much prefer viewing it from this perspective. Again, a view of these ancient ruins, surrounded by or against the background of the city of Athens. The Past and the Present.
It's was a major theater in Athens, considered to be the world's first theater, built at the foot of the Athenian Acropolis. It could seat as many as 17,000 people with excellent acoustics, making it an ideal location for ancient Athens' biggest theatrical celebration, the Dionysia.

I see the magnificent Museum in the upper right. It’s transparent floors over ancient archeological digs was most impressive!...Fav / like
