Part of our fantastic trip to Tucson, Arizona’s Saguaro National Park-East Rincon Mountain District, is capturing all the wonders of this unique and fabulous National Park (one of three in Arizona, USA). Of course I am always hoping for sublime cloud, sky, and sunset captures. No power poles or lines to obscure our view.
Here we have at dusk, a glorious, luminescent, dappled, billowy CLOUD, behind a silhouetted Saguaro Cactus and Ocotillos, with a rain shower, somewhat obscuring the Santa Rita Mountains in the distance. Adorning the cloud is a lovely, pink corsage, rising up out of the cloud. Also reminding me of a bridal bouquet. I call this, “Corsage Adorned Cloud!!

Well composed, with the interesting saguaro in the foreground, and ocotillo. In my experience, good sunset colors in cumulus are not nearly as common as cirrus.

Thank you Vicky! This is Saguaro National Park East-Rincon Mountain District. I very seldom visit Saguaro National Park West-Tucson Mountain District. I like the East Park, as the Rincon Mountains are right there, and the Santa Catalina Mountains are right to the north. I love the intimacy of the 8 mile loop, or the drive to the picnic area. This National Park can be viewed when driving along Old Spanish Trail. I love to visit it in all the seasons. Once the rattlesnakes come out, I only photograph from the road or a trail. This was taken off Cactus Forest Loop Drive, near the Freeman Homestead Trail.
