The beauty of the rose expresses promise, hope, and new beginnings. Perhaps that is why ROSES are my favorite flowers! I can't resist the opportunity to capture their beauty!
I had that opportunity, at my friend's garden of wonderfully colored roses. This red one especially caught my attention. I have never photographed large red roses before. This up close and personal view, really showcased its luscious layers of loveliness. Decreasing the background lighting, provided such a marvelous glow to the rose.
A red rose is an unmistakable expression of love. Red roses convey deep emotions - be it love, longing or desire. So this is a rose "For My Love!" Their unique beauty and subtle fragrance, when given or received, delight one with such a message. I am so elated for the pleasure to share my favorite flowers with you.

The Sonoran Desert is a harsh environment for roses, and being a water conservation conscious area, I don’t get a lot of opportunities to photograph my favorite flower. My friend has a lot of shade trees that protect her wonderful roses. I have tried to photograph them in the Fall, when it’s a bit cooler. She has various varieties and colors as well.
