I am very taken with flowers of all kinds. Hence with my European trip to Macedonia and Greece, I could not resist capturing ALL the diverse, colorful, abundant, native flora growing there.
I was especially elated by the bright and valiant, the magnificent beauty of these delicate, striking, red poppies. They are really something to behold! (As seen in the film, "The Wizard Of Oz").
Papaver rhoeas, commonly known as the Corn Poppy, is one of spring's most eye-catching flowers, thanks to these large, vivid blooms. But this bright, beautiful bloom, does more than light up any countryside, as I have learned.

They are a wonderful color indeed. It was not easy to get this, as it meant treading through tall weeds, and was bit by some kind of bug from the area. It was worth it though.
