I was out capturing some beautiful clouds, standing in the middle of the street. Low and behold, I noticed all these butterflies flying and landing all over this Zinnias Lantana, in front of my neighbor's home.
Since I am a butterfly nut, crazy for butterflies, I turned my attention to attempt to photograph these lovely creatures. I say attempt, because they would not stay still, and they were NOT having it... being photographed. I knew I would not be able to get up close and personal. So I decided to use my telephoto lens to zoom in on them.
It brought me such joy to capture them from various perspectives. Gathering quite a compilation of "Painted Lady Butterfly" captures. It was from this angle though, that I wanted to capture, but a lady has to make up her own mind how she wants to land on a flower. So I would say for this Painted Lady, "It's A Lady's Choice!"

Ahhhh, so this one is called the Painted lady. I love that you know all the names of the birds and Flutterbys that you photograph! You have a nice collection of Butterfly photos! Last year I had 4 Monarch eggs on my Milkweed plant which turn into chrysalis, then into Monarchs! This year I've been reading that they are having trouble migrating. I, also love the Butterflies! Yes, isn’t it an apropos name. Lends itself to so many thoughts for me. It was an ecstatic moment for me. I have more butterfly shots to post. Working on getting some of these wonderful photographic moments, that have been waiting to be shared. I haven’t seen any monarchs ever. We have 250 kinds of butterflies in the Sonoran Desert, 160,000 worldwide. Now if that doesn’t show we were made to live forever, I don’t know what does. What a gift to get to know them all.
