Arizona’s Grand Canyon National Park (USA), is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and its vastness humbles the artist and photographer. It is such a joy to attempt to capture its beauty, needing to be in the right place at the right time.
This is a famous landmark at Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park. Named by geologist Charles Dutton in the late 1800's, Isis Temple after ancient monuments of Ancient Egypt. This wonderful August morning sunrise, was full of atmosphere, with rain, lightning, giving a marvelous morning glow at Mather Point! Creating lights and shadows to the Canyon's famous landmarks, Isis Temple, Cheops Pyramid, and Plateau Point. I loved how the Canyon was lit up, amidst a rainy backdrop, creating "MATHER'S MAJESTY!"

However, little did they know what awaited those of us who stayed. Less of a crowd. My husband painted a huge painting of this event. It beautifully adorns my personal living space.

So generous of you to say, Nikolyn. I really appreciate knowing how you feel. My husband used this as a reference photo for a 60" x 48" painting. It was a unique sunrise at Grand Canyon. I was so glad I was not like so many who left in disappointment at the rainy weather. But those of us who stuck around, proved to be most exhilarating. I can't take any credit for the atmospheric conditions that gave this beauty. It was about being there to take in the moment, and remember it with the help of the camera.
