Description
Standing on the Acropolis, I am southwest to "The Monument of Philopappos," crowning the Mouseion Hill. It truly is a monument nestled in the trees, as I zoomed in, to get a closer look. I shot this at a distance as well, to get an idea of the distance from the Acropolis, and surrounding scenic beauty of Athens.
It was erected by the Athenians in honor of the great benefactor of their city, the exiled prince of Commagene, Julius Antiochus Philopappos who settled in Athens, became a citizen and assumed civic and religious offices.
