The Blanket Flower, Firewheel, or Indian Blanket Flower (Gaillardia pulchella), is a flower belonging to the Sunflower family. A radiant daisy-like bloom, standing like showy pinwheels, they exhibit blanket-like density, which combines with blending of bright reds and yellows, to form a striking tapestry of color.
It is a widely cultivated ornamental plant used as a perennial garden flower, as here in my mother-in-law's garden. I always bring my camera when I visit her home. I never know what beauty will greet me. What a meet and greet this was too, a pure delight these are, radiating such lovely colors! It was sheer, "Blanket Flower Bliss!" Although the bees were not in a blissful state of mind, cutting my visit short, due to their disturbed and annoyed behaviour toward me. Many had come to drink from the small pond nearby, and weren't too pleased at my presence.

Thank you dear Bonnie for sharing your lovely thoughts about my blanket flower photography. They are a delightfully cheerful flower. They are eye-catchers for sure, and I can't resist photographing them when I can. I love to do a shallow depth of field shot, as I am able to have a beautifully natural background with the vegetation that's in the background.

Thank you dear Chance, for the revisit. Those are always appreciated, as it shows you like this very much. I appreciate your lovely words expressed about it. Generally the blanket flowers I photograph are growing wild in higher elevation areas like Sonoita, Mt. Lemmon, Sierra Vista, or Grand Canyon. But they make a great garden flower as well. Jerry's Mom has these in her garden near her fishpond. When they are in bloom, it is always a plus, because they create a lovely composition to capture. The bees were present due to the pond, so it wasn't an easy photo session. Janet 💕
