Description
Despite its small size, probably insignificant wildflowers to most, these colorful blooms caught my attention. These are bright orange-red or apricot, 5-petaled wildflowers, near the tips of weak, wide-ranging, sometimes sprawling stems (needing to be captured on a calm day). The most drought tolerant of its species. Arizona has 16 species, known by various other names as, desert hollyhock and sore-eye poppy.
They are part of my, "Spring Has Sprung" and "Calling All Wildflowers," collection!" This native Sonoran Desert Globe Mallow bloom, is illuminated by the sun, showing its subtle beauty, against the dark background, reminding all of us who want to shine, "Dare To Be Noticed."

Beautiful soft light on this delicate flower, Janet!
Janet Marie replied:
Thank you dear Jurgen, for your ever wonderful comments and support of my work. It was a "dare to be noticed" moment for me. Wildflowers as small as these, growing wild and free, probably are insignificant to most. They are not so easy to capture either, as they grow on tall plants, and sway in the wind. So patience is needed.

So delicate looking, yet quite bold and hardy at the same time. The color is so brilliant in this photo -- you captured it perfectly. Exquisite! (It's been so dry here this year I haven't even seen any of these blooming around here. It's a shame since they are quite pretty.) Featured in American Desert Southwest.
Janet Marie replied:
Jane, you are always so sweet and supportive of my artwork. This desert globe mallow or apricot mallow bloom, is one of the many tiny wildflowers that appear in springtime. I love to get up close and personal with these small blooms, showcasing their unnoticed beauty. They are at the top of a tall stalk, so they blow around easily, making it a bit difficult to capture up close. I am sorry that the lack of rain have made them scarce in your neck of the woods. There are 16 species in Arizona. Thank you for the HOMEPAGE FEATURE, in your Art Group, “AMERICAN DESERT SOUTHWEST!” It’s an honor for my artwork to be recognized in this special way. 💕Janet

Oh wow.. breathtaking ! LF
Janet Marie replied:
Johanna! So sweet of you to visit my gallery and share your lovely thoughts about my artwork. A tiny beauty that for the most part, probably goes unnoticed. But not by me, I love wildflowers, so important for the hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, while giving us a colorful display, as can be seen here. Thank you for noticing this, liking it, and choosing it as one of your favorites too! I really appreciate it. đź’•Janet
