Description
Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park (USA), is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and its vastness humbles the artist and photographer. It is such a joy to attempt to capture its beauty, varied by all the atmospheric conditions at the time.
Ah, Shoshone Point, two miles southeast of Yaki Point. Not an easy find, as this point is not signposted along the Desert View Drive (east entrance drive). To get to this spot, one has to take a 20 minute walk, along a one mile unpaved (rocky, uneven, but level) road or path, through open ponderosa pine woodland.
At the end of the path, the cliffs form a narrow point of high land, that juts out from the plateau, and offering views of more than 180ยฐ of the Grand Canyon, a vista usually appreciated without any other visitors. Here is one of those views from Shoshone Point, a famous and prominent temple complex, Zoroaster Temple peering through the Canyon trees on the rim.
I love looking through the trees of the Grand Canyon. It's like looking into some secret world. This "Beauty Through The Pines" frames the scenic view so marvelously.

Hi Janet; I must have missed this wonderful spot on my travels along Desert View. What a beautiful scene; and what a beautiful composition and capture. Beauty through your lens and through the pines indeed.
Janet Marie replied:
Hello Hany, Shoshone Point is not on the maps. They hold weddings and special events there, so it is not advertised. Jerry painted a scene there and wanted to go to the spot in his artwork. So in October we did. We spoke to someone at the Watchtower, and they said how to get there. Jerry can send you an email on how to get there. It is just east of Yaki Point. You have to take a 20 minute walk from where you park to arrive at Shoshone Point. I still have more images to upload of our time there. Thank you for stopping by my gallery to share your wonderful thoughts about my artwork. I love to capture Grand Canyon through the trees, like looking into a secret world. I really appreciate your words expressed here. Most encouraging. Janet ๐

It was dream like while walking all around that spectacular viewpoint, Janet. Places and times like this motivate me to spend weeks behind an easel to capture it on canvas. Then, hanging in our home, the art transports us back to our wonderful experience there. Lovely capture through the pines, dearest one!.....Fav / like

Wow, Jerry! What an aweSoMe comment shared about one of my favorite ways to capture the Grand Canyon. I am very fond of trees and using them to frame an image is like looking into a secret world through a window or even a keyhole. I am delighted to know that this motivates you to render our times at theses phenomenal places of beauty and grandeur on canvas. What a talent you have to transport the emotional feelings and heART you have for this place. ๐๐๐๐

Thank you Aurelio for loving what I love. The Grand Canyon National Park is a wonderful place to use trees to frame one's artwork. I never seem to get tired of doing that.
