Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park (USA), is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and its vastness humbles the artist and photographer. It is such a joy to attempt to capture its beauty, needing to be in the right place at the right time.
With scenic beauty such as this, one is truly "Transformed By Grand Canyon." During golden hour, near Mather Point, it is especially breathtaking. The sun sharing its last light over the majestic backdrop to Cedar Ridge and O'Neill Butte, Vishnu Temple, Wotan's Throne, Desert View Cliffs, and Angels Gate. It just stops you in your tracks.
I generally remove any people, but wanted to show the vast scope of just a fraction of the grandest canyon on earth. So I left them in.

very nice use of light and shadow to convey the depth of the canyon during golden hour, Janet - I like the emphasis on the landscape and letting the distant temples and land forms dominate the scene with just a hint of nearby rim here for perspective. I also like that you left a few people in to show the scale of the canyon - featured in Arizona!

The light and shadow is from a higher source, but I am so privileged to have had the opportunity to be there at the right time to appreciate this lovely gift, and then to photograph it.
