Description
The Canyon Overlook Trail is one of the few official trails in the upper East Canyon of Zion National Park Utah. It's a nice short-but-sweet hike that ends at a great viewpoint looking into the main canyon.
Along the way, are some great views and a break in a cool shaded alcove with lush ferns growing out of the walls. We stopped in that alcove to capture this fabulous view of Mt. Carmel. The tunnel taking you from the East end of Zion National Park, into the main part of the Park, is carved out going through Mt. Carmel.

I love that room with a view comment! This is a great spot to stop not only to view and photograph that view, but if it is warm weather it's a nice reprieve from the heat.
