Description
Following our summer monsoon rains in the Arizona Sonoran Desert, many flowers adorn our desert. On my trek along Pistol Hill Road capturing all the lush greenery of the Rincon Valley, and decided to get a close-up view of these wonderful yellow, daisy-like flowers, that are called PAPERFLOWERS (when they dry they become paperlike). They really dress up the Arizona Sonoran Desert with their delicate beauty, looking like "DESERT GOLD."
I love the purple bokeh my photography captured, as this was late in the afternoon. The color purple is my passion, and is always complimentary with yellow. A color that evokes joy and happiness, symbolizing friendship!

The many thousands of images that are floral masterpieces and photoshopped, this one is the best I've ever seen. It caught my eye on a site that shows many floral photos. Way to go, Janet, I only noticed the artist after I admired the photo. I love the purple bokeh too, just stunning.

Lisa! What a nice surprise to have you visit my gallery of work. This is one of my early captures, posting this after only being on FAA for 4 months. I don’t own Photoshop or any other photo programs out there. I am not sure I would even know what to with them. This is the photo gallery that came with Windows 7. If I need to, I adjust the lighting (shadows and highlights), the colors either a little warmer or cooler at times. I pretty much have to get it right with my camera. I love my Nikon for getting in close with a shallow depth of field shot as it creates such beautiful, natural backgrounds. This one amazed me that it turned out so lovely. I am most HONORED to have you say what you did, as I had entered this some groups and had it be rejected for a Feature. But I run the group now, and featured it. To say this is the BEST you have ever seen, leaves me gobSMACKED, as it had no special programs (which I don’t particularly like, unless someone is trying to give it a painterly look, I want my photography to look like camera work, not with textures and such). So, dear Lisa, a HUGe thank you for sharing such lovely thoughts about “Desert Gold” wildflowers can stand up to the beauty of garden flowers. 💕Janet

I always enJOY reading your descriptions for your work, truly showing your love for what you photograph. Yellow is always such a complementary color to the color purple, too. Beautiful natural bokeh background, giving it such a lovely backdrop to your work. Jerry, wow! I am deLIGHTed to know that you enJoy reading my descriptions. Part of the fun for my photography, as I love to express how I feel about what I photograph. "Desert Gold" was a surprising outcome, as I was checking out other photo ops, here were these along the Arizona Sonoran Desert roadside. I love it when I can do a shallow depth of field shot and get such a lovely natural background, especially since I have no Photoshop type programs. Thank you for sharing to Facebook too.

It took on those colors due to the time of day when this was shot. I was pleasantly surprised. Here in the Arizona Upland region of the Sonoran Desert we get our gold or yellow in the Springtime rather than the Fall, with all the native flowers blooming. When shooting a macro image the depth of field is very shallow, which I like because it really makes my subject stand out from the background, which took on a purple hue.
