I love black and white photography of flowers, a favorite of mine. Not everyone has that appreciation of flowers in black and white. But they miss out on showcasing the blooms in such a special way. It's all about the lighting, shadows, and tonal quality. Knowing when it's right. Black and white photography, lends itself to such contrast and definition, accentuating all the lovely nuances and details of the floral presentation.
This is a springtime bloom, the desert marigold. A prolific wildflower of the Arizona Sonoran Desert. I have had the privilege to capture them in all their glory in breathtaking yellow as well.

My Dad, who's specialty as a professional photographer was black and white, said of flowers in this medium, "He felt flowers should be in color." He had a change of heArt viewing my flowers in black and white. I felt validated with that, as he was so talented and great in his field. (I love you Dad, thanks for the confidence)π
