Description
đź’• Come visit more biodiverse beauty, in my gallery "Cave Creek Cnyn Portal AZ" đź’•
Nestled in the Chiricahua Mountains of Southeastern Arizona, 150 miles east of Tucson, lies Cave Creek Canyon, a hidden gem (as I didn't know this was here before), with spectacular rhyolite cliffs, pine-oak woodland, serene flowing streams, and abundant flora. Cave Creek Canyon has been dubbed, “Arizona’s Yosemite.” It is part of the Coronado National Forest Recreation Area.
You access this splendor, from the tiny town of Portal, which sits at the mouth of the Canyon.
Inspiring beauty lays before me, with such magnificent scenery as this. Rock formations fascinate me, because they can stir the imagination. Just as one can see things in the clouds, you can also in the vertical surface of rocks. So, I ask you, "How Many Faces In the Rock Face?"

Jane’s right! The upper left of the tallest boulder I see a scouling guy and also a profile of an Indian brave’s nose. To the lower left near the tree line a see a pair of mean looking eyes. The middle rock formation has 2 critters: a profile Elephant ( you can see its ear, eye, and trunk as it pushes against a tree ) and also you could use the shape that makes its face and it is a fish leaping out of the water ( trees ) with its mouth and eye against the sky, Janet There is more but I’ll leave them for other viewer’s imaginations.....Fav / like

So glad to draw attention to the faces in the rock face of all three rock formations. Thank you for sharing yours Jerry, as I see additional ones myself. I hope others are able to be creative and imaginative in what they see, and will share it. I am glad you like this and have chosen it as one of your favorites as those faves/likes mean a lot to me. I really appreciate it.

Gorgeous. There are a lot of faces, and some of them look quite grumpy! LOL Looks like a wonderful place to hike.

Jane! Always such a pleasure to have you visit my gallery and share your lovely feelings about my artwork. Thank you for that. A new place to discover and visit, just this past weekend. I don't picture myself hiking here, as I was a little uncomfortable after reading the posted signs by the Forest Service, that we visit at our risk due to persons entering the country illegally (alluding to past drug arrests). Right now with the government shutdown, there are no Forest Rangers protecting this recreational area. I would be concerned at this point of any strangers visiting the area. I am just a cautious person. We are going to visit this place in the spring. I have about 200+ images to share of this beautiful place. I see in the rocks 3 different faces, one of them being the fish, Mr. Limpet! LOL! Thank you for visiting and commenting on my artwork. I appreciate the love and support!
