Red and yellow poppies in your state of Virgina, are a sight we do not get to see here in the Arizona Sonoran Desert. In visiting Macedonia I was amazed at the vivid red poppies with black basal spot. So here we have the Arizona Poppy or Summer Poppy that is bright orange with a red Basel or yellowish with a dark orange basel. Here I have captured my favorite, the Mexican Gold Poppy, has that yummy yellow-orange cup-shaped flowers. I am glad you feel they are beautiful. They are quite a showy display. 💕Janet

It was a windy day and the flowers were moving to and fro, so the petals were dusted with pollen. I get pollen a lot on my flower images, the bees and butterflies just doing there job.
