Description
Hermit Road (formerly known as the West Rim Drive) has some of the best Grand Canyon Views that you can see anywhere. Black Granite Gorge is no exception. Once you get out to Hopi Point, the Colorado River comes into view. And on a quiet day you can hear the roar of the Colorado River as it crashes through Black Granite Gorge. It was an exquisite December afternoon, (is a great time of year because the road is open to all vehicles), so one can leisurely checkout all the viewpoints.
We really enjoyed our time at this part of the Park, as we did not get to do so in June of last year or April of this year. Both times required a ride in the Shuttle Buses. Treasured moments as a couple and renewed zeal for Jerry to paint the GRAND CANYON!!
Arizona's Grand Canyon is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and its vastness humbles the artist and photographer. It is such a joy to attempt to capture its beauty, needing to be in the right place at the right time.

I can't even imagine.... such extraordinary beauty on this beautiful earth ♥ f/l
Janet Marie replied:
Thank you Heather you are so sweet. Can you see why Jerry has painted 5 magnificent Grand Canyon pieces of art!! His whole heart, soul and mind is affected by this VAST place hence rendering these beautiful scenes with love and passion. FAA can barely show the beauty of that artwork. Has to be seen in person to believe, just like Grand Canyon. You have to be there. This was a must take a picture stop off. I am so glad that I can give you just a bit of a taste, a morsel really of how glorious this place is.

Janet, this is a remarkable image with the subtle colours and the light and shadows dancing off of the rock formations! It has an impressionistic watercolour feel to it, very beautiful! LF
Janet Marie replied:
Thank you so much Malanda for stopping by. It was A fabulous day in the canyon. Had so many wonderful hues of color due to the ever-changing clouds, creating numerous shadows and shades of color. I appreciate your compliment about the impressionistic watercolor feel. Hence why when seeing this beauty in person one tries to capture that dreamy atmospheric feel that was happening that day. It is nice to be validated that I was able to do that by your comment.
