Description
I have the Fairy Duster plants in my desert garden, but not the Baja Fairy Duster. Baja fairy duster is native to Baja California, Mexico, and has vibrant red powder puff-like flowers, which is often a color missing in the desert plant palette.
I came across these at The Tohono Chul Desert Garden, and I couldn't believe my eyes at their "Sheer Red Vibrancy!" No wonder they are favored by hummingbirds and frequented by butterflies. They had me at hello!

I love these gorgeous blossoms and they are among my favorites. This is a wonderful image! I have the Baja here in my garden and they actually do quite well for such a tempermental climate. We have such extremes at my elevation but they manage to thrive in spite of me! LOL L/F Featured in American Desert Southwest.

Since they are not native to my area, I was able to enjoy them at this botanical park, where my work has been exhibited in their art shows. It was a fun day with my camera. Thank you, Rick. I am glad you think so. It was a fun day of photography for sure. My first with this variety of fairy duster, as I had only photographed the pink fairy duster, native to the Arizona Sonoran Desert. So, this was a pleasant surprise.
