Description
π Come visit more biodiverse beauty, in my gallery "Cave Creek Cnyn Portal AZ" π
Nestled in the Chiricahua Mountains of Southeastern Arizona, 150 miles east of Tucson, lies Cave Creek Canyon, a hidden gem (as I didn't know this was here before), with spectacular rhyolite cliffs, pine-oak woodland, serene flowing streams, and abundant flora. Cave Creek Canyon has been dubbed, βArizonaβs Yosemite.β It is part of the Coronado National Forest Recreation Area.
You access this splendor, from the tiny town of Portal, which sits at the mouth of the Canyon. Snow sits atop of this Mountain Range, it's "Chiricahua Snow!"

The white barren areas in the top of the mountains is from the devastating forest fire in 2011. Another huge fire west of these in the Huachuca mountains destroyed my parents home near Sierra Vista. Here the beauty and snow help to ease the memories of that month of June almost eight years ago, Janet !.....Fav / like

Posted just for you Jerry. As this was a favorite of yours. At day's end, and the clouds rolling in, gave such a beautiful icy feel to this newly discovered and visited place. Forest fires certainly have been a devastating event for so many. We can certainly can have empathy for those affected. I appreciate the extra support by choosing this as one of your favorites. Those faves/likes mean a lot to me. Thank you for all the support of my artwork!
