I was out capturing some beautiful clouds, standing in the middle of the street, near my Arizona Sonoran Desert home. Low and behold, I noticed all these butterflies flying and landing all over this American Red Lantana.
Since I am a butterfly nut, crazy for butterflies, I turned my attention to attempt to photograph these lovely creatures. I say attempt, because they would not stay still, and they we're NOT having it... being photographed, that is!
I knew I would not be able to get up close and personal, so I had to be quick and stealthy. I could only accomplish that with my telephoto lens, to zoom in on them. They were landing every which way, to get away from me, but I was not deterred. I continued to fire away with my Nikon. This Painted Lady Butterfly standing its ground, as if to say I’m, "Keeping My Eye On You!"

So glad, Angie! It was an amazing experience for a butterfly nut like me. It is a small butterfly, this painted lady, and flittering all about. I was only able to pull off all the shots I did using a zoom lens. One tiny move from me was detected with their amazing eyesight. Thank you for the great comment.
