Description
π Come visit more biodiverse beauty, in my gallery "Cave Creek Cnyn Portal AZ" π
Nestled in the Chiricahua Mountains of Southeastern Arizona, 150 miles east of Tucson, lies Cave Creek Canyon, a hidden gem (as I didn't know this was here before), with spectacular rhyolite cliffs, pine-oak woodland, serene flowing streams, and abundant flora. Cave Creek Canyon has been dubbed, βArizonaβs Yosemite.β It is part of the Coronado National Forest Recreation Area.
You access this splendor, from the tiny town of Portal, which sits at the mouth of the Canyon.
These bare stone walls stand cloaked with lichen, looking as though paint has been spilled down the rock face. They are a real stand-out against the cloudy blue sky. The Pine-Oak woodland lines the hills below these sculpted edifices of stone. Truly, "Nature's Graffiti!"

Cathedral Rock towers above Cave Creek. From the tall trees at its base to the ones at the very top, we feel its heavenly heights and are awe struck!....Fav / like

So true your beautiful comment. The look of painted cliffs against a clouded blue sky is so AWEsome. I appreciate you liking this and choosing it as one of your favorites too! ππππ
