Description
๐ Come visit more biodiverse beauty, in my gallery "Cave Creek Cnyn Portal AZ" ๐
Nestled in the Chiricahua Mountains of Southeastern Arizona, 150 miles east of Tucson, lies Cave Creek Canyon, a hidden gem (as I didn't know this was here before), with spectacular rhyolite cliffs, pine-oak woodland, serene flowing streams, and abundant flora.
That flora would include the white-barked, Arizona Sycamore Tree, as seen here. I say, "What A Tree-t," to see. Having lost its leaves, one can get a good view of its gnarly, twisted branches, as it is surrounded by a diverse group of scrub vegetation.
You access this splendor, from the tiny town of Portal, which sits at the mouth of the Canyon. It is part of the Coronado National Forest Recreation Area.

Yes, what a tree! I have always been fascinated with the beauty and natural formations of rocks and trees, this is so attractive, great eye and capture Janet! LF
Janet Marie replied:
Malanda! That means so much coming from you. Thank you for that. Trees really are a treat for me. I look forward to returning here in the spring to see fullnif leaves too. Without the leaves, it allows us to see the twisted branches. I am glad you like it and feel as you have expressed. I really appreciate that, and for choosing this as one of your favorites too. ๐Janet

Wow -- I've never seen anything like that. What a beautiful and spectacular tree. I love the gnarly look of it --- gives it so much character. L/F
Janet Marie replied:
Jane! I am so glad that I could evoke such lovely feelings in you, about this Arizona Sycamore. With the loss of leaves, it really shows what a "twisted" tree this is, and so big too! It truly was a tree-t for me. It is surrounded by so much lovely desert and scrub vegetation. This truly is a place of biodiversity. Seeing it in the Spring. Thank you for liking this and choosing this as one of your favorites too! Those likes and faves always mean so much. So glad I could share this with you. Big hugs, Janet
