Description
Tucson, Arizona is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Living just outside of Tucson, the Rincon Mountain adorns the back of my desert acre of joy. These mountains are to the east.
As a cold front was coming in, one is not really sure what to expect. So, an unexpected storm was the order of the day. March drawing to a close, and yesterday's weather a warm, beautiful day, wouldn't you know.
I took a series of pictures of the progress of the storm. Starting with the storm sweeping across Rincon Peak and Spud Rock of the Rincon Mountains and Mica Mountains, and ending up 3 hours later, with what the storm left behind.
Snow at the top of Rincon Peak. I zoom in the Rincon Mountain range, highlighting the top of that peak, with my 300mm lens, and it is a snow covered forest.
If you click on the image for a full resolution view, placing the green square over the peak, you can see all the pine trees covered with snow. Chilly weather is ahead for the weekend, but by next week the temperatures are expected to be in the low 80's.
