Description
On the outskirts of Tucson, Arizona (USA), a small but vital part of the Sonoran Desert is preserved as the Saguaro National Park (East-Rincon Mountain District) It's one of 3 national parks in Arizona. Here the Saguaro Cactus, monarchs of the cactus world, reached out to welcome me to this surprisingly lush and diverse desert landscape.
The saguaro has been called monarch of the Sonoran Desert, supreme symbol of the American Southwest, and a plant with PERSONALITY. It is renowned for the variety of ODD, ALL-TOO-HUMAN shapes it assumes...shapes that inspire wild and fanciful imaginings.
I had the pleasure of capturing some of these ALL-TOO-HUMAN SHAPES with personalities. I would like to introduce you to some of them.
Saguaros grow from a very small seed in the protection of a nurse tree or plant. That is the case with this saguaro. In appreciation of that diligent care, looks like "It Is Hug A Tree Day!"
