Description
Since 1933 this extraordinary giant cactus, the Saguaro, has been protected within SAGUARO NATIONAL PARK. One of 3 National Parks in Arizona.
The saguaro has been called monarch of the Arizona Sonoran Desert, supreme symbol of the American Southwest, and a plant with PERSONALITY. It is renowned for the variety of ODD, ALL-TOO-HUMAN shapes it assumes...shapes that inspire wild and fanciful imaginings.
As you drive along the one-way scenic, 8 mile drive through the Park, you come across some of these ALL-TOO-HUMAN SHAPES with personalities, and I just have to stop, like any normal tourist, to take their picture. They are just standing there, being young, and of 3 different sizes, like any friends are, just hanging out. Reminding me of "The Three Amigos!"
